SQL Server’s sqlcmd on Linux using Windows Authentication

You've heard that SQL Server will soon be available on Linux, but did you know that the client tools have already been ported *and* they support Integrated Authentication? Watch as PowerShell MVP and SUSE Certified Linux Administrator Chrissy LeMaire shows SQL Server MVP Aaron Nelson how to install Linux, join an Active Directory domain, login as a domain user, and execute a SQL query against SQL Server using sqlcmd. PowerShell/Linux command line equivalents will also be discussed.

Chrissy is a Windows PowerShell MVP who has worked in IT for nearly 20 years. She currently serves as the SQL Server DBA for NATO Special Ops in Belgium, and the SQL PASS PowerShell Virtual Chapter Co-lead. She is also an avid scripter, and has used PowerShell since it was introduced in 2005 at the Microsoft Professional Conference in Los Angeles. Chrissy is the creator of the popular dbatools PowerShell module for SQL Server. Chrissy is currently pursuing an MS in Systems Engineering at Regis University. In her spare time, she explores Trappist breweries in Belgium with her wife and maintains RealCajunRecipes.com with her mom and best friend. You can follow her on Twitter at @cl.
